My 2 euros worth.
Over the years many fish have been imported as males only.
These include Irantherina rainbows, golden lineatus, many strains of
guppies, etc, ad nauseum.
My comment echoes Mr. Barnum. There's a sucker born every minute.
I am NOT denigrating the work the breeders put into the strains, just the
mugs who pay stupid amounts of money.
For further examples take a lot at some modern "art", such as heaps of
bricks, sheep in formalin etc. It's not only the fish hobby that suffers
from rich fools.
