I agree! Out tanks are very diff. to the wild conditions. The sooner
we stop being in awe of the complexity and start testing the
hypothesis the sooner we will be able to get those dreamed of 50/50
splits in the sexes.

It is interesting to note that the temp. hypothesis has been born out
of several aquarist sects: cichlids, killies etc... In killies there
is anecdotal evidence for both nonannuals (A. striatum) and annuals
(S. zonatus). In the case of the latter there is a split between
favouring temperature or incubation time (which is tied in with
temp.).

I have a friend in Romania who has done some controled expr. and will
hopefully enlighten us all soon.

Keep well

Oh, and Alberto the problem is probably notho-fade-away. Reduce water
turbulence and feed live foods while hoping for the best. YOu may
also want to try treating with anything against internal parasitic
infections. Also, you have to increase the TDS and up the pH.
They will be fine with the AUS but if the guentheri get better the
AUS may have to be moved for their safety.

Bye
