RE: A proper introduction

Hi Denise,

Welcome to the Killie Addiction Support Group! Although there are no cures
here. There are plenty of people who will facilitate your addiction. Kind of
like holding an AA meeting at Joe's Tavern during happy hour.

Nice to know we have another betta expert in the group in case someone
strays and needs help with those little air breathers. Some of our members
have addictive personalities and wind up with other fish addictions too. To
some degree we understand and will not hold it against you. At least you are
on the right track with killies. ;^)

Peace,

~RJ~

Subject: A proper introduction

I have been lurking for a little bit here and I thought I might make a
proper introduction. I am currently a student at the University of Illinois
and will be graduating in May with a degree in animal sciences. I reside in
Urbana although I am originally from Northern Illinois. I have been
breeding show bettas for about a year and I have been keeping a few types of
killies for the past 10 months or so (in addition to a few cichlids,
catfish, and other odds and ends). I currently have Epiplatys dageti,
Nothobranchius foershi, N. guentheri, Simpsonichthys fulminantis, and
Aphyosemion australe "Orange". In the past I have kept Nematolebias whitei
and Fundulopanchax gardneri "N'sukka". I think it is easy to see why small,
brightly colored fish you can keep in relatively small tanks would appeal to
any betta breeder ROFLOL! Especially when our apartment is filled with 25
tanks and 300 jarred bettas.

I had the pleasure of meeting Scott Davis at our local fish club's auction a
few weekends ago and I am hoping that one of these months I can get up to
Chicago for one of the Chicago Killifish Association meetings.
