nicotine poisoning?
I bought a 5 gal. tank at a lfs. There was a haze on the glass that was very
stubborn to come off. I think it may have been nicotine. I moved 7 bellottii
from the other tank to the new 5 gal. tank. I used the same water from the
old tank to the new tank. After a few hours, I noticed the fish were not
acting right. I thought they were just stressed. The next morning, there
were 2 floaters and the others were not far behind. I quickly netted the
other fish and put them in a tub with fresh water. Another fish had died. I
am now left with 1 male and 3 females. Could nicotine cause this problem,
and what can be done to get rid of these types of contaminates. Obviously I
did not wash the tank enough. Can nicotine be this lethal ?
