Re: Shipping experiences

Thanks Barry.

I've found that the USPS has become somewhat inconsistent in their shipping
of Priority packages since 9-11. I have had cases where Priority (which has
been consistent for the past several years for me) taking anywhere from its
usual 2-3 days to a week. More and more packages are taking close to a week
to arrive at their destinations, trips that took 48 hours in most cases over
the summer.

This has been true not just for fish (although I am now labeling them
"perishable" so they will go through), but for all packages I've sent
recently.

In light of this I am making more of an effort to hand carry fish back and
forth for members whenever I travel. Although I hope that the USPS gets its
act together and becomes the reliable shipper we have come to depend on, it
may not happen in the near future. We may have to explore other shipping
options, as Barry is doing, and we may also have to make more of an effort
to maintain and share fish at club meetings and shows.

changes in USPS regulations. I'd like to relate a couple of experiences that
might be helpful.
