On Walkeri. 140 in a 20 is really tight if they have
much size to them. They sex out when still pretty
small, so watch your sex ratios closely. You may find
that once you can pick 20 or so males, and maybe 30
females, you will want to thin out the rest. That
would still give you 50 or so fish in the 20 to
continue growing up, but a lot better than 140. About
the same on AMI, but I have never had spawns there
larger than about 30.
Blue Gularis are a completely different story. They
grow so fast, eat so much, they really need a
swimming pool with huge commercial filtration. I have
about 30 in a 29. Even at 2"-3" they are terribly
overcrowded. Changing 10 gallons of water every week
with 2 outside power filters running full blast I am
not keeping up. Sexes are defined now, and a big
thinning is going to solve the crowding problem.
