Newbie fry questions

Hello all,
I have a few questions regarding fry. First question is about growth
rate. How fast should my fry be growing? I am currently working with SJO,
AMI, and WAL. It seems that they are growing so slowly I must be doing
something wrong. I have a batch of AMI that hatched out on 7/17 they are
over 4 months old. I am new to killies but I was under the impression that
killie grew very fast and would be full sized adults in about three months.
But my 4 month old AMI are between 1/4 and 1/2 inch. These are my oldest
fry. I have many more batches of all three species growing out. Is this a
normal growth rate for AMI and Fp . in general? or am I doing it wrong.....
I have about 27 of them in 20 gal tank with lots of Java moss a sponge
filter, Strong lighting on a timer (14hrs/day) I feed mostly frozen bbs and
mix in Moina and grindal worms. Most days they get fed once and some days
twice. I kept the tank heated (temps in the upper 70s)

I assume that the factors governing growth rate of fry are:
	Temp
	Length of Day
Frequency of water changes (2x month now)
Density of fish to water volume
	Aggression
Amount and quality of food given
	Genetics

Am I missing anything?

On a side note I was also wondering what kinds of Grow out Densities
people use ie.. 1 fry in a 10 gallon tank or 100 fry in a 1 gallon shoe
box.... is there any guide lines. For instance 2 fry per gallon of grow out
container.

BTW... I realize growth rates are all going to be different based on species
and making generalizations is dangerous. This is why I listed the species I
am working with. Any advice will be greatly appreicieated.

Thank you,

John
