A good tip for newbies is to take a little note pad along with you to the convention. It's useful on the show floor to make a list of fish you want to consider bidding on as well as for taking down names, addresses and speaker notes/tips. Also, as it relates to Jay's comments, take notes on who the breeders are of fish you are interested in getting. Even if you walk away from the convention without the fish of our dreams, it's very likely that the breeder will have more at home or can reserve future eggs/offspring for you before the shipping season ends, one of the benefit of having the convention early in the season.

It's so important to remember that the AKA is not just about killies, it's also about the people who keep and raise killies. Most problems and/or flames arise from when we forget this important fact.
