Poisonous plastic

Hello,

I'm planning a new fishroom (who isn't?) and have just been sent a catalogue of water barrels. Theres a perfect 150g rectangular thing for £200. Thats steep, but its a perfect size. (1.5m long X 0.6m wide x 0.85m tall; should fit nicely under my new shelving)

Now I know some plastic is poisonous, but which ones? Is that green 'water barrel' plastic ok or not. Incidently I use a 50g plastic water barrel with no ill effects, but I filter through carbon too. I will still do that , but it would obviously be better not to need to. 

Which plastics are the safe ones, and which ones are bad? Any chemists out there?
