Good luck at scaling down. Your are wiser than we were in planning for
significant change in the cadences of your lives. (That phrase "they grow so
fast" is not an unfounded cliche.) The arrival of kids is when a lot of
killie people begin to investigate the possibility of keeping one pair of
killies in a "naturally" planted 10 gallon tank.

By the way, if you belong to a general club, only nine more bambinos and you
and your bride have breeder's points. ;)
