RE: A note from the Boat

Hi Boat,

First of all breeding and babies are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Two
tanks is enough to maintain at least one species! Before packing it in
entirely consider maintaining one rare species. An annual might only require
active attention for part of the year. It should not take up much time or
room and you will get to stay in the game. The extra time you will have will
no doubt benefit that species you are preserving.

Every now and again someone who has been long lost to the killie community
comes back. And sometimes they have maintained a species or two while they
were gone. As all of the active breeders have long since moved on to newer
fish the fish they bring back to the hobby are a welcome surprise. And
according to local legend this has been the source for the recurrence of
some long lost species.

In any case congrats on the baby to come.

Peace,

~RJ~

Listen guys I did get a bit bent out of shape with Barry's comments (no harm
done Barry and no offense taken I hope.) I apologize. To others out there,
its ok, just don't beat me up too bad...lol. To Mike, dang man, you made my
whole year ( I actually teared up!!!)

Now for the announcement. My wife and I are expecting a baby (most of you
caught that before.) The next part is harder, and some SKS guys who have
been really concentrating with me are ready to kill me over this. I'm
stepping away from breeding for a while. I will keep two tanks and one
might contain a killie species then again it might not. However, I am only
storing my equipment until a more stable time, when I can raise another Ed
Werner, Brian Waters, or R.A. Jubb!!! I will not be giving up the hobby or
attending meetings, as attending meetings doesn't exactly require owning
fish. I want to thank those who have born with me, given to me and coached
me. THANKS!!

See you all soon, CAUTION I will be lurking.......lol.
