RE: AKA Convention
There are only two speakers listed on the site because that is the way
someone wanted to work it so far. I am not second guessing that person. We
have all our speakers lined up and I think it's a very good slate. Those
who attend both the WCW and National Convention will have a memorable
Spring; no doubt about it. I don't micro-manage the volunteers; I do
encourage them to read feedback and make any adjustments they deem
necessary.
With our registration process we are trying as close as possible to let the
online folks register as early as the mail in folks. No process is perfect
and the person handling registration has the final say on this. The
registration person has submitted a plan on how to fairly handle all this
and I support the initiative. We are trying to give the mail in's an equal
chance to get low fish sale room numbers as those who register online.
The way it stands now, anyone can get their plane tickets for that weekend
in May (it's always Memorial Day Weekend) and can reserve a hotel room if
they want. Opening up registration on 1/1/02 allows five months to
register. Do we need more time than that?
If we really want to make meaningful arrangements, use the coming months to
concentrate on fish entries that might win some awards and breed those
rascals for the sale room and auction. Contact the St. Louis Chamber of
Commerce about other areas of interest for you and your families. Contact
your friends to find out who might like to share a room. And maybe the most
over looked cranny; ask ourselves this question; "What talent, something
small, can I contribute to make the Convention a success?" "Ask not..."

Joe,
Why must it go in the BNL before it goes online??
The more information we can get out now the more time people have to make
arrangements. Also why are there only two speakers listed on the web site?
Is that the best we have to offer?
