Re: How to use rainwater to spawn killies?

Because I have well water that is fairly hard and of a high ph I collect
rain water and use it at about a 9:1 ratio. That is 9 parts rain water
to about 1 part well water. You will have to test your water and then
add enough rain water to
get to the hardness and ph that you desire. I collect my water off the
roof in a 55 gal. drum that supplies a 55 gal drum in the basement. I
have a whole house filter on the line into the basement that removes the
finer sediment. I then run a outside filter on the inside drum to polish
the rain water. I also have a screen on the inlet to the outside drum to
filter out any large sediment, leaves, etc.
