pH is very NB with Tanganyikans. The chemistry of the
lake is so stable that these fish have never had to
adapt to acidic conditions and will not be able to do so
in captivity. For all Tanganyikans it is best to
maintain a pH above 7.6 or even 8.2 for some fish. High
O2 is also needed.
Hardness doesn't seem a major issue. As long as the
conductivity and pH is high tanganyikans seem to breed
freely. That is my opinion though...
