BTW, Kean Huat, if the plastic craft mesh is too flimsy becasue of the width of the tank, lace a thin dowel rod across the top for rigidity. 

I learned this trick from Susan Stacey who makes small tank lids out of the stuff.  She cuts a square slightly larger than the tank.  The she cuts four, one inch strips the same length as each of the tank sides.  Next lace the edges together with thread to form a lid.  I used nylon thread, which I figured would ne more durable in humid conditions.  

For larger tanks, such as ten gallon tanks, Susan laces a dowel rod across the top to prevent the center from sagging.  She also custs a small two inch square on top near the front for feeding.  Use a separate piece to cut a cover for this hole that's slightly larger than two inches, so it won't fall in, and lace only the back edge to act as a hinge.  The feeding hole means you won't have to lift the entire lid for feeding, which is easier and also reduces the risk of leaving the top ajar for the killies to jump through.
