RE: minimum tanks (on topic/no spam) fifindi yellow
The FAL CI 98 I had were ruthless to each other in a ten. I only put them
together for short times to spawn, and even then it was under direct
supervision. The male would pump her for eggs, and then when she was done,
he would grab her mouth and shake her relentlessly. However, I now have a
trio in a 5 thanks to Bill Shenefelt, and I have observed only a white
abrasion to one females eye. However, I have two top mops and much sphagnum
moss in the bottom to hide amongst. I will say it was a difficult fish for
a beginner and the only luck I had then was a fry showing up in my tank
every now and again. They colored up their best on Mozzies. I would say
I'm a little better prepared to keep them now. I'm using the David Ramsey
method of stuffing a lot of sphagnum n the bottom of the tank, leaving it
there for a week or so and then putting all of it in a zip-lock bag for a
certain incubation time.
Bill, what was the Incubation time and temp again? I lost your e-mail on
that!!!
On the sphagnum subject, it was cool, I was watching my WAL 'Abidjan' duck
in and out of the sphagnum in its tank yesterday It really seems to enjoy
the stuff!!
