Re: shipping

        My understanding is that irradiation does indeed kill anthrax
spores.  My guess is that the treatment would be done on large containers of
mail before it went into the sorting machines.

... Does irradiation kill anthrax spores?  They are tough little devils and
quick zap may not be enough to do the job, especially at the high speed in
which letter sorting machines process envelopes.
