Dale - I don't think it matters what the medium is (just as long as there is
some moisture present). I think its just a matter of keeping the eggs apart
during incubation. An egg will be prone to fungus if it is damaged or
infertile - nothing can be done to prevent it. Using Acriflavin or the like
will prevent or lessen the spread of fungus to healthy eggs. I use peat for
all my eggs. I do not even bother to pick fungused eggs, because I know it
will not spread to the other eggs. Hope this helps.
