They *are* killifish, "Pupfish" to be exact.

You do not need a picture as they are really easy to sex.
The females tend to be variable shades of brown and tan, with a distinct
eyespot at the rear base of the dorsal, as well as a few along the lateral
line on the sides.
Males are horizontally striped red and irridescent green, and lack the dorsal
spot. The upper front quadrant (nose to dorsal) tends to be a dark blue with
irridescent flecks all through it. The overall effect is much like an American
Flag, hence the common name of American-Flag Fish. They may have one eye spot
on the side, at the lower, rear corner of the blue area, but it tends to be
less distinct than those on the females.
Some females have a little irridescence, but nothing like the bright colors of
the males. The females' dark patterns change from stripes to checkerboard to
random blobs. Fascinating to watch.
Go by the dorsal fin spot (alwats female), for store fish are often starved
for veggies and in very poor color.
Feed everything, but include lots of vegetable matter or they may eat your
plants. They are better algae eaters than a whole herd of any fish with a
sucker mouth. Zucchini, blanched for a minute in the microwave, will sink and
is loved by them.
Watch out, though, as they can be a nasty as any cichlid when protecting a
nest. Use a big tank with lots of cover, or remove the female after a spawn or
he may kill her. Try filter floss as a sunken spawning mop.
