Worms/viruses

Everyone,

I have just intercepted several attempts to send messages to killietalk and have received two private messages, all of which are attempts to send a virus or worm. On infected machines these worms "mine" the user's email address book for addresses, then send themselves out, unkown to the user. If you receive a message with an attachment, particularly if it is an executable file (.com, .exe) please don't open it. Also make sure to scan your system for viruses using the latest virus definitions. I use Norton Antivirus, updated at least weekly, with good success, but there are other good virus screening programs available.
