You know, I don't care why people on the list don't also join the AKA.
It's their loss, at the end of the day. While this has NO reflection on
John Wubbolt, who is a great guy, let's look at the reasons why "person
x on a thread like this" might not join, in no order of priority:
a) cheapness
b) philosphical differences
c) grumpiness
d) conviction of being above such things
e) disorganization (their own or the AKA's)
f) past personal conflicts
g) loyalty, sense of getting everything from a local club
h) being broke or something else
If the true answer is a,b,c,d,e,f,g,or h, the only answer given on a
public list will be "b - philosophical differences", or maybe a
variation on "e". No one will say "I'm too cheap, lazy and grouchy" to
join. So what's the use of our always asking? These things get worked
out face to face. We already have a zealous group of earnest, wild-eyed
killie guys planning to love bomb Big John with AKA propaganda at the
next Montreal meeting...

In Big John's case, I'd say it's cause he's too tall to enjoy the lower
tier of tanks at the convention show. That almost drove me off too.
Jehmco's gonna have to start selling plastic knee joints soon if this
continues.
