RE: dodgy RAC

Hi Guy,

I have not seen this blue edging on the scales of either RAC of foershi
females. I have noticed the blue in the gill covers of the RAC however. I
have heard several stories of people mixing Nothos females in order to make
up pairs. It is hard to know if any of these are true. I suppose that the
males will be the best judge of what you bought. If they spawn the females
are RAC. If they do not, I think you can assume that you have something
else.

Peace,

~RJ~

Subject: dodgy RAC

Hi peeps,
I may have a problem with some mis identified RAC females. I got 2 fem's
from a lfs that said they were leftover RAC . I put them in with some known
RAC.
These fem's were older so the differences I ascribed to age - now I'm not so
sure. They have blue tinting to the gills like many notho's, but they also
have blue edging to
the scales of the body. I seem to remember that foerschi femals have this
(could be wrong) but does anyone out there have aq strain RAC that show
this? I know the
shop often has RAC and keeps quite a few killies so I'm sure the problem
would have arisen at the importer. My known RAC females are almost the same
size and have
plain bodies.
	Thanks in advance,
		Guy.
