Re: usps attn Jose Perez
Whoa Jose; Bill Shenefelt here. I do not know the guy, but I always ship on
a Saturday if possible. You can wait to pack the same day you ship and
they move on Sunday even better than on a weekday since the PO is not busy
with the commercial weekday mailings, and to most places arrive on Monday in
the morning mail.
First, the priority and express mail packages are no longer going via
"people carrier" airplanes. That is why the PO is NOT allowing fish
shipments at all. Some go ground, some go in commercial transport, but no
packages go via people carrying planes like before. Some unmarked are making
it through but it is iffy.
I would not blame the guy at all for doing it on a Saturday. Problem now
is the PO is not real reliable for fish anymore(since they are supposed to
refuse them since they have a good chance of not making it with the People
carrier airplanes no longer taking packages). By USPS, boxes may travel via
an unheated cargo bay, depending on the flight, or via ground now.
I would let him know what happened before he sends more stuff out via USPS.
I have switched to Airborne and have not yet even shipped a box, but intend
to ship some tomorrow.
