RE: Convention St. Louis Memorial Day Weekend 2002

Hi Folks,

For short auctions it always pays to keep the most valuable fish towards the
end. With killies it is often hard to know which fish will bring the highest
bids. But we do have some idea. If the best fish are at the end more people
are likely to stay longer and bid more often.

On the other hand with an auction as long as the AKA auction it is hard to
sit still through the entire event. It is easy to lose concentration. On
the other hand lots of breaks drags things out way too long. Therefore it
would be nice if everyone had a copy of a list of fish to be auctioned and
at least the order in which the fish will be offered. This way someone could
step out for a minute or two without the fear of missing the fish they
really want.

A PC and laser printer on site should do the job of printing the lists. If a
fast printer can not be arranged the hotel most likely has a photocopier.

As to grouping killies together, that might not be the worst idea. I doubt
that people will walk out after their group is done. Most killifolk keep
more than one kind of killies, I for example bought Fp., Rivs and Nothos at
the last AKA convention. I keep Nothos, Rivs, Aphys, Eppies, natives, South
American dirt fish and others.

Peace,

~RJ~
