I've been trying to contact another friend who lives and works in New York. 
Her name is Cindy Wang and she worked for a Chinese government agency 
dealing with travel and tourism to China.

She lives in the west end of Manhattan. I don't know what the conditions are 
like in that area, are trelephones, faxes, the internet working?
