Group spawning A.striatum
Hi all,
Australe has been mention for group spawning though I
never tried I might try it in the future.
At the moment I group spawn my striatum. The group consists
of three males (one male is too young to fertilise eggs,
but I could be wrong) and 15+ females (there are too many
of them I can't count!) I do have two mops in the tank with
them, one a long floating one that is so long that it touches
the tank bottom, and the second in a sinking one. I collect
eggs from both mops. 4-5 eggs a day is a norm for me.
Would I get more eggs if I set them up as pairs? YES
Would that option take more space? YES
Am I getting adequete number of eggs and fry for my needs? YES
Would I recommend it to people? YES
I have another two juvenile males and 10+ juvenile females growing
which will join my spawning group in a few weeks, at which time
I'll add another couple of mops to the tank.
