In the interest of continental integrity, perhaps only some Rivulus and 
Apistogramma and Crenicara species should be combined. We did find them in 
close proximity in Peru two weeks ago. Temperature and water quality were 
similar, but they were not in identical spots. The Rivulus were in small 
tributaries and the Apistos were in larger tributaries. Tetras, Corys and 
Apistos were caught in the same net from the larger rivers. Rivulus were 
isolated in small pools in small creeks in the shade.
