RE: Killie problem
Hi Colleen,
Notho-fade-away was caused by too much air or current. As far as I know only
Nothos have this problem. Most killies actually like some current and lots
of air.
If you have a Notho turn off the air and filtration and feed very small live
food. There is a slim chance that it will start to eat again. If it is
anything else you are most likely dealing with sick fish. If you do not know
what you have take a look on the AKA web site and compare your fish to
something there.
Best regards,
~RJ~

Hello Colleen,
Your problem sounds like the Notho fade away talked about this
spring. Joe Bulterman 's post has some potential. There is not much
that can be done at this stage. General consensus is but only cutting
open the gut to see with a microscope can confirm a protozoa,
hexamita. Basically it causes the gut to become so irritated the fish
can't swallow food. Unless you can get medication and nutrition down
the throat there is nothing you can do.
