 Exactly why the list has become somewhat useless to me. The content 
 signal-to-noise ratio has deteriorated, and that garbage formatting is most 
 unfriendly to many participants, particularly all digest subscribers.

 Folks with AOL 6 o/e can get a free Hotmail account like this one for list 
 business. The web interface is, admittedly, a pain, but at least it permits 
 posting in plain text. All others can find the settings right in their 
 e-mail editor for sending plain text (US ASCII) to lists. It is not rocket 
 science. It is good manners.

I agree Wright.  I'd only like to add that an easier way for those who have 
AOL 6.0 is to simply change back to AOL 5.0.  That way no new email names, 
accounts, etc.   Nothing new to worry about, and 5.0 is fully compatable with 
this list.
