Re: mortal enemies

Notice that their displays and posturing seem similar enough to really push their hot buttons. This is not good for the Bettas.

Then maybe they seem similar enough to each other. There was a collected Betta in a preservative solution which looked enough like a killie to fool an early taxonomist who put the species in Panchax. I think today it is known as Betta picta. :)

All the best.

Subject: mortal enemies

Has anybody noticed if any to kinds of killie fish are mortal enemies? The reason why I ask is that one time I put a trio of Fp.gard. in a tank with a betta and the male FPL.gard. took to fighting with the betta & wouldn't stop. I then put a glass divider in the tank, but they still were going at it through the glass a couple of weeks later. I then removed the betta from the tank completely so the fish could get on with their lives. I noticed the same behavior with paradise fish also. So I was just wondering if anyone has noticed this behavior between any two types of killies. Thanks Bill nmg25
