I suggested the following for lids in an earlier post.

Can't say I'm gonna run to the hardware store to be exact about their
manufacture.

About them sagging,
Have you ever seen sagging drop ceiling light panels (under normal
conditions)?
The light panels are 2' X 4' and don't sag.
Why would anyone think that over a smaller span they would sag.
Does 2 foot by 4 foot have some magic mathmetical property reducing the
sagging multiplier to zero?

The plastic top rim offers the same grid support as a drop ceiling rails.
