Re: New fish
Hi Duane, Just returned from a collecting trip to Gabon. In transporting my
fish from Gabon, I kept them in a 250 ml nalgene jar filled with 125 ml of
good, clean water. Even though I lost 2 fish out of 80 in transport, I found
that gradually adding tank water to the jars over a period of 3 hours (about
50 ml each hour) I lost no fish. This gradual method worked for a variety of
killies that I collected: A. mimbon, A. maculatum, A. cameronense, A.
australe, A. alpha, A. herzogi, and Episemion callipteron. I should note that
some of these fish weren't in the best of shape when I shipped them since I
had kept some of them in these same jars for a month while feeding them fruit
flies. Some weren't all that healthy when shipped. See you later, Nevin in
