Re: new fish - drip siphon
I run a strand of yarn through the airline tubing. Then I wet it by
sucking some water through. This will work as a very low speed siphon by
wicking water from the source to the destination as gravity pulls the water
down the yarn. It is usefull for adapting new fish to equalize tds, etc. I
also use this sometimes for water changes if I have really small fry like
Epiplatys and don't want to disturb them too much. Because it works by
capillary action, there is no suction at all in the tube.

container for the additinal water and keep it tightly covered. Tie off a
peice of airline and use it to drip the water from the tank they are going
into slowly, you can tighten the knot to regulate the speed of the drip. You
should run this until you have 3-4 times the volume of water the fish came
to you in. Then you can safely empty the fish into your tank.
