POLYCARBONATE vs. STYRENE RE: Coretex lids was RE: riccia fluvitans as anti-jumping device?

While some may be polycarbonate, would you agree that most are made of
easily breakable styrene as it is much cheaper?
I am referring to the ones for fluorescent light diffusers.
