Re: Ph and bicarbonate of soda/baking soda

Hello all,

My name is Stew and I live in Central Texas.  Recently, I bought a 75 gallon tank as a step up from my current 37 gallon Marineland Eclipse 3.  My community consists of a 4- inch convict, a 4- inch auratus, a lone kribensis, a molly pair to generate live fry for "treats" for the cichlids, a couple of small lamp-eye tetras and the usual algae eater and a couple of kuhli loaches.

After seeing pictures of Killifish, I am seriously considering introducing these to my community once the 75 gallon tank is up and running.  The question is: Will my two big cichlids beat the snot out of these little jewels (killies). They are pretty agressive toward each other but not toward the other fish except to eat othe molly fry.  I'm thinking that since the tank will be bigger, the killies will be left alone for the most part. Am I wrong here?

Also, what kind of cost is associated with these fish?  I understand that most pet stores don't carry them, so I'm hoping they're not too expensive.
