RE: RO unit

As many of you are aware, SpectraPure is a supporter of the AKA and they
make some of the best Reverse Osmosis units.
At the last Convention in Buffalo, they donated the R/O unit that was
auctioned on
Sunday morning. I myself have a SpectraPure 80 GPD unit and I would not
trade it. The fact that SpectraPure makes quality products and supports the
AKA is all I need to know. Having an R/O unit has enabled me to breed
killi's that I was unsuccessful at breeding otherwise. Charles Mitsis is
the President of the Company and a very knowledgeable person to work with.
His telephone number is toll free 800.685.2783 and their website is:
www.spectrapure.com
You can order replacements parts directly from the Company; the sales staff
will help you make a good choice for your needs.

Subject: RO unit

For the past 10 years we have had a small RO unit on our well water
supply that is after our water softener. It has a 14 g.p.d. output. We
have always just used it for drinking, making tea or coffee, etc. and I
have used rainwater for my killies. I had recently changed the membrane
but now I have noticed a odor and unpleasant taste to the RO water. I
have been considering buying a new unit. One that would have a larger
capacity, say 35 or 50 g.p.d. With this additional capacity I could use
it for my killies as well when my rainwater was low in a dry
period.(Like now) Does anyone have any suggestions on make or model?
What has been your experiences and success with the RO water? I know
this has been talked about before but until now I was never to concerned
about the info. Thanks,
                                        George
