I just cut a small piece of plastic tubing that snugly fit down the filter
housing and stuffed it in the end of a calking tube of silicon Aq sealant as
suggested.  Seems to stick fairly well and will probably do the trick  A
screw driver did not seem to pull it from the lead plug/filter inside so it
should stay put.
Dumb for the company but not too hard to fix. Designer should get a reaming
for stupidity.  Did 50 filters in about 30 minutes.
