making/using paste food?

Several variants of the following recipe have been reported to be successful.
This is the one I use:
DIRECTIONS FOR MAKING FISH FOOD FROM GELATIN BASE
(adapted from Roger Hoelter’s recipe as modified by Dan Katz)
These are the ingredients you will need:
2 cans of fish-based Friskies™ cat food (Tuna, Salmon or Whitefish)
(I prefer the salmon)
1 jar baby food - strained carrots, peas, etc.
4 packets KNOX ™ unflavored gelatin dissolved in 4 Tablespoons hot water
Optionally you can add a can of cocktail shrimp or a fresh, boiled shrimp,
parsley, garlic, etc.
Blend the 2 cans of cat food and the carrots and optional other ingredients
in a Waring™ blender for a minute or so until uniform.
Put the gelatin and water in a small saucepan; stir and heat until dissolved.
Do not overheat! Immediately pour the gelatin into the blender and mix for
another minute. Pour into Zip-Loc™ bags let it cool to gel the gelatine and
freeze.
To feed, grate (size depends on fish size) the frozen block of food, disperse
in a 1/2 cup water and dispense with an eye dropper or baster type syringe.
Large fish will eat big chunks cut off with a razor blade, small fish will
eat small pieces from the grater. All fish seem to like this food once they
get used to it.
