Re:Peat from Warner's Jiffy Pots

Hi Charles,It took me a litle while to figure out what to tell you.Ed.was the one that studied all all and every thing.I was just the shipping clerk and just got bits and pieces in the conversations. But now I am lerning .I looked hi and low for somthing to go on.I found some documents where Ed.was involved in a study and there I found a paragraph about Jiffypellets #703.Here is what it says:I use Jiffy 7 703peatpellets because they work great. They are of the right consistency and already sterilized [Autoclafed] to destroy parasires etc, they have a pH of 6.8 and when I add to my water of 7.2 we come out almost with a perfect pH 7.The other pellets of number 700,701 and 702 are much more acid and contain fertilizer so of course should NOT be used.this is the advise from what I call the expert. You can surdenly purchase peatpellets from me.Take care and have a nice day   Ruth

Hello Ruth Warner, This is Charles Harrison in St Louis. I have had several people ask me if your Jiffy Peat Pots contain the 1/4th gram ammonia per pot like the ones I tested this spring. I have told them I thought they were all the same, that the basics were in the peat as long as nothing has been added. 0.25 to .5 grams per 50 to 100 grams was a usual condition of peat moss. Have you ever had them tested? May I purchase a dozen to test?
