source for vinegar eels

You might try LFS cultures http://www.lfscultures.com/ . They carry them
and I've had great service from them.

Check your local fish clubs. Not a good commercial item, they are rarely
actually in the trade. Mostly they are shared at meetings by the hobbyists.

They are advertised in the BNL sometimes, so maybe a simple mailing would
work.

International shipment of anything described as nematodes tends to be pretty
dicey, if not impossible.

Get someone traveling from the states to get a starter from a local killy
club, and hand carry it in their baggage, in an opaque medicine bottle.
Better yet, pour a starter into the smallest bottle of apple-cider vinegar
they can buy and bring it along. The eels are so tiny that the customs folks
won't even see them under normal circumstances, and one whiff of the opened
bottle will assure them the contents are vinegar. :-) None of this should be
interpreted as encouraging breaking any laws, of course. Just keep a low
profile and don't exercise the poor folks who need to find smuggled
plutonium, etc.

In retrospect it becomes clear that hindsight is definitely overrated.
