Two plants I really like are Ceratophyllum demersum (hornwort) and Pistia
stratiotes although they both are supposed to have high light requirements,
they (especially the Pistia) block out a lot of light anyway, they grow like
weeds, and provide lots of cover for both fry and fish.    I take bits of
the hornwort and put it in the jam jars I grow my fry up in.    There is
only background room lighting on these jars, not much at that, and the
hornwort survives quite happily for a few weeks or so.

I've seen a lot of posts in the past where people are raising their killie's
in heavily planted tanks.  I prefer to keep plants in my tanks and I'm
always willing to try something different.  I'm assuming that floating
clumps of Java moss are the staple.  I was hoping those that do keep other
plants and killies together could post which species of plants they are
growing.
