Hi Harry,

Thanks for the note. That is fascinating to me as Lois Saphion in
St. Louis, who raised discus in the 50's and provided Gene Wolfsheimer with
the tank raised browns that he used in his famous photos, raised all her
discus fry on NEWLY hatched brine shrimp. I accidently ran into a guy who
used to help her in her fishroom as a kid as she and his dad were friends and
he confirmed that for me. I asked Rosario about it once and he said that some
breeder had told him that the really large browns were capable of laying an
egg so large that the fry could eat baby brine. Were those SF eggs your
friend used? This would make sense as Armbruster in Philly was the first to
breed discus here in the 30's and raise fry and he used tiny tiny food away
from the parents.
I am about to get busy on this history and will put up a post soon
asking for all kinds of help.

                               Thanks,
                                Robert
