FW: AKA History / Convention (was VDA at 90)

Who was it who said that those who do not know history are doomed to
repeat it?

Anyway, I for one would love to see the old shows and read Robert's
proposed AKA history article. I hope to put a similar thing together for
GCKA when I can make the time. The history of the group (be it national
or local club) gives us an idea of why it was formed, what people have
learned along the way, and where it is going. We need that information
to try to plan for the future.

KI>Robert, I don't think you should give up the idea of
KI>writing about the AKA's history. If for no other
KI>reason, 80% of the knowledge we have about breeding
KI>and maintaining them came from the early pioneers,
KI>there haven't been any huge revelations in that regard
KI>since the LaCortes', et al started all this. As a
KI>matter of fact it is not uncommon to refer back to one
KI>of the 'old-timers' when we are having difficulty with
KI>a certain species. They had usually found the answer
KI>or discovered what the next step should be.
