Scott, instead of dealing with individual slides and having ppl to return them, isn't
it 'easier' to have them scanned to CDRs? Archiving issues aside, the digital format
would be easier to rent / handle / duplicate. Even overseas members would be able
to access or purchase them without the hefty postage involved.
Besides, image viewers and MS Office (including PowerPoint) are *almost* installed in
every school and home PCs these days (referring to SG).

While not everyone would have a standalone DVD player or PC-DVD drive in their
system, wouldn't a VCD be more viable? Windows media-player is, by default
installation, a standard item for viewing mpeg files. If all the existing tapes
(which I believe is the real asset of AKA or any other fish club for that matter) are
converted to VCDs, these can be put up for rental / sale. It'll serve both veteran
keepers (for reference) and newbies (for insight).

Saying that NOT everyone (killifish keeper) has a computer system doesn't quite apply
here either.... they can still play the CDR with a standalone VCD player. I know PC
stuffs don't belong here but preserving / distribution of killie-related info is.

Just my thoughts,
Ronnie Lee ... (putting on my flame resistant suit) ;o)
