Re: sjo appetites & worm supply
Hey Alf,
Worms are hard to grow on a slab foundation. It gets pretty warm and
crowded. I miss the basement in our previous place. Interestingly enough,
the daphnia are doing well outside, as are a couple of other Cladocerans. An
indoor culture of something small has been greeted by killie youngsters. I'd
be glad to send a starter to anyone who would/could take the time to I.D.
it. Probably they blew in from a nearby wetland as cycts or via raccoon
whisker express.
Everyone has to adjust their food culture efforts to their schedule and
facilities. It is a little like the people in New York who have soft water
and struggle to raise hardwater fish. I'd love their water as opposed to our
liquid rock. Hence the R.O. unit. But we all must customize the operation to
fit us. We are supposed to keep the killies, not vice-versa.
By the same token, about half my tanks have been sent to newbies. The other
half weren't properly cared for anyway and I would like my children to be
able to recognize me. ;)
All the best!
Scott
