AOL and Plain Text Email
I have just received an email from AOL Technical support concerning the
problem with listervs. Here is the salient part of their response:

We are aware of some issues raised by LISTSERV owners and Postmasters whose
systems do not accept richly formatted/HTML mail. We are actively monitoring
the issue. In the meantime, members who want to send e-mails to Internet
addresses which reject rich formatting, may use one of the following
alternatives to send plain text only mail:
1) When authoring mail in AOL 6.0 remove all formatting from the message body
and send the message in the AOL 6.0 default of Arial, size 10 - do not
include any bold/italics/underline, colors, or other styles.
2) Use AOL Mail on the Web (at http://www.aol.com) to send mail to Internet
addresses which reject formatting - AOL Mail on the Web sends mail as plain
text only.

For method #2, you can goto www.aol.com from within aol or from any other
Internet connection. You can then enter your login information and access a
web-based version of your email which can send in plain text only.
Hope this helps.
