Also, if the tank is in bright light, turn off the light or in extreme cases
cover the tank (masking tape and several layers of newspaper will do). The
velvet organisms, in addition to their other habits, practice
photosynthesis. Darkness cuts off a source of their energy and vitality.
That may be part of what those green dyes do.
