Hi All,
Just a couple of thoughts, maybe more males is mother
natures of insureing the survival of a species. With
the males extra colour and finnage the extra drag
would mean slower accelaration and use more energy to
retain top speed it would be alot easier for predators
to find and stalk the males. As many of you might of
noticed some females have real knack of blending in.
Also the agretion of some male species would also add
to an early dimise of many young males. Many of the
larger predator killies are very hard breed not very
colourful, and there is not as much bright colour or
finnage, the pictures of SAA that I have seen fit into
this catagory show not a great deal of difference
between the males and females. Do not know about sex
ratios with these but if my thoughts are right it
should be more females than males.

Very colourful species that are easy to breed and are
an important part of the food chain. Should give a
high percentage of males to females, 80-90% males.

Colourful species that is part of the food chain but
not as important as the first, 70-80% males

Colourful species that is part of the food chain by
chance. Or species where males and females are similar
in apperance, but are an important part of the food
chain, 60-70% males.

Colourful species that suffers very little
predatation. Or species M/F are similar in apperance
important part of the food chain. but not as important
as the group mentioned above, 50-60% males.

Colourful species suffers no predatation probably only
located in one billabong or pool of water. Or species
similar in apperance M/F suffers very little to nill
predatation, 40-50% males.

Species similar in apperance M/F located in one pool
of water no predatation. Or predator killies top of
the food chain, 30-40% males.

Probably way of track, never even finished high school
but as I was thinking it through it made sence.

Guess who.
Rumpig :p
