I noticed some nice pairs of these fish at the LFS going for about $10 a
pair. I looked them up in my reference books TFH, Scheel etc and wonder if I
should pick them up. Lately there has been a glut in the LFS's throughout
 Tokyo–they are popular now.

I would appreciate any info on these fish, it's my first time to come across
them. BTW I have great success with A australe in an outdoor tub and I'd
like to repeat this with these fish.

Ed,
Considering any Killi to be worth $5 plus shipping, $10 a pair is not out
of line. They will lay top to bottom on mops and can be kept much the same
as the A. australe including out door tubs in summer time. If you use
floating plants any fry hatching in the tub or tank will have a place to hide
and usually are not eaten by the adults if they are well fed. Be sure to
cover them as they are jumpers.
