Arizona Rivulin Keepers June Meeting
The June meeting of the Arizona Rivulin Keepers is Saturday, June 9. We
will be meeting at the Round Table Pizza, 9920 S. Rural Road, in south Tempe
(2 miles east of I-10 on Ray Road). We will gather at 6:30 pm for a time to
set up, socialize, and eat pizza. Meetings are free and the public is
invited.
This month we will feature the killifish genus Nothobranchius. Our program
will be the AKA video by Karl Doering on Nothobranchius. We are also
arranging to bring in some Nothos for the auction table.
We expect two outside shipments to supplement our auction: the Nothos
mentioned above as well as some Furcatus Rainbows and Desert Gobies (and
maybe some killies!). We also encourage members (and visitors) to bring in
their killies, other unusual small fish, aquatic plants, and live food
cultures for the auction. There will be a 30/70 split with 70% going to the
person providing the item.
Our "Sponsor of the Month" is Brine Shrimp Direct. They have generously
supported our club in the past and we appreciate the products they donate.
From another source, we also expecting a sample shipment of black worms that
will be distributed at the meeting.
For future planning - the July meeting of ARK is July 14. Charles
Clapsaddle of Santa Fe Tropical Fish (Goliad, TX) has tentatively agree to
be our speaker. Charles is the manager of this commercial hatchery and will
share his ideas on breeding for quality and quantity - killies included.
This should be an excellent program.
